Spec-driven development (SDD) combines the speed of AI code generation with the rigor of upfront design and clear documentation. This session will explore the shift from undocumented vibe coding to a structured, spec-first paradigm where a detailed, agreed-upon design specification drives all code generation, implementation, testing, and documentation. Drawing on our experience with SDD at scale, we’ll provide guidance and recommendations to accelerate software development, reduce technical debt, collaborate better, manage costs, and improve the quality and maintainability of any software developed with AI assistance.
