Teach agents in the shadows: Incremental AI adoption with OpenTelemetry

The strangler fig pattern enabled monolith-to-microservices migration. The cognitive strangler applies the same incremental approach to agent adoption. In this session, we’ll demonstrate two techniques: First, shadow agent deployment, where an agent runs in parallel with production calls through OpenTelemetry context propagation, generating responses without affecting the critical path. And second, the trace-to-training pipeline that exports span data as JSON for fine-tuning in Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
