Jeff Thompson leads the Infrastructure practice for professional services in North America.  He and his team are responsible for helping our largest cloud customers deploy, migrate, and automate on GCP.  He currently leads the Sabre and Yahoo Migrations.
Jeff joined Google in 2007 as the western region’s operations manager.  As Google’s data center requirements increased, Jeff built and led various global groups within technical infrastructure and data center operations to assist in global scaling through process engineering while setting global standards to meet ever-growing  needs.
He and his teams led the process design and automation for deployment of datacenter and infrastructure technologies such as Google’s Jupiter network fabric, TPU pods, and Cloud regions. His last project before moving to Cloud in 2018 was leading the development and deployment of a fully automated robotic disk erase environment.
Prior to joining Google, Jeff was the Director of Server Infrastructure for Hewitt Associates, and has over 25 years of managing and scaling servers, networking and data centers.
Jeff has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
