Mr. Foss is a senior manager based out of Athens, AL as part of the Strategic Transformation Services, Cyber Defense team.  As a part of the Cyber Defense team, Mr. Foss leads multiple avenues of security consulting including strategic assessments, Security Operations Center (SOC) uplift, and procedural development.  Mr. Foss also provides hands-on guidance to client SOC members and leadership including, but not limited to, investigative assistance, tailored individual and team training, tool selection and tuning, SOC candidate interview development and administration, and CISO advisement.
With 13 years of public and private sector cyber security experience, Mr. Foss has a solid background in hands-on security operations center analysis and leadership, cyber intelligence, and federal counterintelligence investigations in a cyber environment.  He has dedicated experience investigating Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) activity targeted toward both government and private industry networks.  Mr. Foss previously conducted joint cyber investigations as a civilian Air Force Special Agent (1811) with multiple foreign and domestic partner intelligence and law enforcement agencies, including serving as a Task Force Officer assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Prior to his work in cyber security, Mr. Foss spent 9 years in the military intelligence community.
Mr. Foss' professional certifications include CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GCTD, GPCS,  and GPEN.
