Michael Bachman is a GM/VP of Engineering at Google, leading our Cloud Foundations effort within the Google Cloud Platform. This organization leads critical infrastructure that powers Cloud and our customers, from APIs, application, agentic, security, runtimes, and observability platforms. Michael was one of our first engineers in our developer platform efforts at Google, building out CI/CD at scale and has led organizations spanning efforts from Payments, Android, Core systems, Search to Cloud. He has been at Google for over 22 years, with experience from distributed systems, security, payments, advertising, mobile, and Cloud. Michael also serves as a Tech Advisor, mentoring Googler leadership and external partners in the industry. Outside of work, Michael spends a lot of time with his family, coaching various sports teams for his two sons, has a passion for continued learning, and staying active snowboarding and playing basketball.
