Felix Cheung leads the RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark product at NVIDIA, looking at the next frontier of GPU-accelerated compute. He has been participating in the Spark community for over 12 years, is serving as a PMC member and committer for Apache Spark. Prior to NVIDIA, he headed engineering at a startup building data products, he was the head of data platform at Uber supporting ingestion, analytics, data science at hyperscale, and built the data fabric at Microsoft Azure. Felix started his journey in the big data space with the then state-of-the-art MapReduce. Since then, he had juggled thousands of cores in the cloud or in data centers. In addition to building stuff, he used to present at conferences, meetups, and workshops. He was also a teaching assistant for the very first set of edX MOOCs on Apache Spark.
