Ian Buck is the vice president of Hyperscale and HPC at NVIDIA, where he leads thecompany’s multi-billion dollar accelerated computing and datacenter business. Heoversees the development and delivery of NVIDIA’s full stack of hardware and softwareplatforms for today’s most advanced AI and HPC workloads.Under his leadership, NVIDIA’s data center business has grown into the leadingplatform for accelerated computing and generative AI. His organization defines anddelivers the portfolio behind global AI infrastructure, working with top cloud providers,model developers, and AI startups.Buck joined NVIDIA in 2004 and is the inventor of CUDA. He has devoted his career toadvancing accelerated computing, beginning with pioneering research into usinggraphics processors for general-purpose computation. Known for his long-standing workin the field, he has testified before the U.S. Congress on AI and has advised the WhiteHouse on the topic.Buck holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Princeton University and aPh.D. in computer science from Stanford University.
