Giovanni Ge is Chief Product and Engineering Officer at AppLovin. Giovanni is the founding engineer and leader of Axon, the company’s AI-powered platform. He built its core recommendation engine and foundational infrastructure from the ground up, and today he leads Axon’s evolution across its major components, including the ad exchange, recommendation systems, and product platform. Under his leadership, Axon has grown into a global-scale platform at the center of AppLovin’s business. Earlier in his career, Giovanni conducted machine learning research at Meta, BlackRock, and Uber. He earned his PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Science and Technology of China.
