Steve Lockwood started his career as an Aerospace Engineer and worked for the Department of Navy - Space Science division as a Thermal Control Engineer and a Software Development Coordinator for several space satellite projects. In 1995 he was involved in a project that leveraged Web technologies and the Java programming language, while Java was still in beta which resulted in Steve co-authoring two of the first books written on Java - The "Java How-To" and "Java API for Dummies". Steve then began working as a consultant in the Web space and focused on Web security. Today he focuses on helping organizations leverage Google Cloud to solve strategic business problems.
Certified as a Cloud Digital and GenAI Leader, Professional Cloud Architect, Developer, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, Network Engineer, SRE practitioner, Steve was named Google Cloud Trainer of the Year in 2019.
